Updates!

I completed the slouch handbag and a couple of small totes for my Etsy!

 

I've also completed the top to my bellydance costume.  I've added beadwork!

Well, I returned to school this week and the children return to school on Monday, January 10.  I'll have some more time to work on projects!  Until then,...

Junk Lovin Wednesday

Well, this week's installation is modest...a 'Crafter's bag'!

I like the vellum bag...I can recycle this! 

 

"PURSEnalities inc."; a mag of bag and purse patterns, kits and accessories.  Not sure, but guessing circa 1960s.  The address is 1619 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, New York 11510.  I wonder what's at that address now?

  

Rick-Rack (keep); thread (keep); empty wood thread spools (keep); buttons (keep)...the tiny white ones are great for cloth doll clothes; needles for hand sewing (keep).  The sewing pamphlets and other things will get Freecycled.

SEWed Up!...with Cute Purses

OK. I'm on a bag, purse and tote kick now for upcoming Spring. Women can never have enough bags and accessories. Right?

I had just enough fabric to make these two cute purses. If you like, they are for sale on my Etsy shop. And, I'm currently working on more!

SEWed Up!...Grocery Tote w/matching Mini Carryall

I love this bag! It was made from sheets!

While thrifting with my husband, I found this colorful and fun sheet and made my grocery tote. I added a mini carryall for change, I.D. and lip gloss. I make the mini carryalls because I do not want to carry a purse and my bags. I particularly like this style of tote because of it's wide handle/strap - it's 3" wide. It's a good size bag and measures 20"w x 20"l and the mini carryall measures 13"w x 5"l.

I really try to remember and carry my bags to the grocery store. The totes I've made from canvas are kept in my car so that I will not forget. My prettier ones stay in the house for mall or other shopping.
